Through our Play Attention program, the Museum works collaboratively with community organizations serving veterans and active duty military personnel to invite military veterans, active duty military personnel, and their families to the Museum to explore and play in the exhibits free of charge while the Museum is closed to the general public.
These events will occur on select Sunday afternoons throughout the year and will provide a safe, non-threatening environment for veterans and active duty military families to enjoy quality family time. During the event you and your family members will have access to all exhibits. Museum staff and volunteers will be available for play support and guidance. Additional activities and resources specifically for military and veteran families will be provided.
Kohl Children’s Museum was specifically designed to be inclusive of all children and adults regardless of ability. The Museum’s 16 exhibits and 2 acres of outdoor explorations are designed for play with a purpose and encourage linguistic, cognitive, motor, and social skills for children ages birth through 8. The Museum works collaboratively with community organizations to invite families with children with special needs to the Museum to explore the exhibits while closed to the general public. These events, titled Everyone at Play, usually occur on specified Sunday afternoons from 2 - 5 p.m. This provides opportunities for calm, creative, and collaborative play. See our website for the next Everyone at Play events.
